5000 personas llenaron el RDM –antiguo muelle para submarinos- en Roterdam para la celebración del Dagvlinder Festival el pasado 12 de Octubre.
Con un cartel repleto de los mejores DJ holandeses e internacionales del house y techno, las dos salas del antiguo muelle para submarinos estaban totalmente equipadas con los sistemas line array de Amate audio –Suministrados por la compañía de audio profesional Imagination A/V- para dotar al Dagvlinder del mayor sonido hasta la fecha.
Mientras que ocho line array NITID N208 y doce subwoofers N18W cubrieron holgadamente el segundo escenario ‘Jack’s House’ – La sala más pequeña-, el nuevo buque insignia de Amate Audio el line array de 3 vías X212AF aseguró un sonido mejor –Y más alto- en la sala principal con capacidad para 3500 personas, con dos columnas de nueve X212AF de 4000W cada uno y doce subwoofers X218W de 5000W cada uno.
Jason Lupgens, el MD de Imagination A/V, explica: “Si bien el line array X212AF es nuestra última adquisición, ya eramos conscientes del gran potencial de este sistema, aunque tal vez no lo suficientemente conscientes”
“El año pasado, la sala principal estaba equipada con un sistema de diez line array de 10” de alta calidad que a pesar de dar un sonido bueno, no lograba cubrir toda la sala. Por ello, los requisitos que se nos dieron fue el de un sistema line array de 12” que llenase toda la sala. Estábamos firmemente convencidos de que con dos columnas de nueve altavoces y doce subwoofers íbamos a dejarlos boquiabiertos. ¡Una vez instalado pudimos medir 120 dB con el sistema a -6 dB ! Con la potencia del X212AF podríamos haber logrado sonorizar la sala con una configuración más pequeña”
La instalación de monitores para el DJ no fue menos impresionante, formada por cuatro clusters de array activos X12CLA de 1500W y cuatro subwoofers X18T de 2500W
5,000 people filled the RDM Onderzeebootloods in Rotterdam on the occasion of the Dagvlinder Festivalon 12 October. With a house / techno line up of top Dutch and international DJ talent, the former submarine wharf’s two rooms were fully equipped with Amate Audio line array systems – supplied by sound company Imagination A/V – for the biggest Dagvlinder sound yet.
While an eight-a-side NÍTID N208 line array and 12x N18W subs comfortably handled the second Jack’s House stage in the smaller room, Amate Audio’s brand new top of the range 3-way X212AF line array ensured the 3,500 capacity main room sounded better – and bigger – than ever before: with two sides of nine 4000 W (RMS) X212AF line array elements and 12x 5000 W matched X218WF subs.
Jason Lupgens, MD of Imagination A/V explains: “While the X212AF line array is our most recent acquisition, we were aware of the systems greater power potential – maybe just not fully aware.
“The previous year the main room featured a high-end ten inch line array system and while the sound was good, it just didn’t have the reach for the full extent of the hall. So the brief we were give was that it had to be a 12 inch line array and it had to of sufficient scale to fill the entire space. We were fully convinced that with nine-a-side strings and 12 subs we would truly impress. But once it was up and running, we were measuring a full 120dB at a distance of 40 meters with the system at –6dB! With the X212AF we could have effortlessly covered that room a much smaller system configuration.”
On stage DJ monitoring was no less impressive, comprising four X12CLA 1500 W active cluster array cabinets and four 2500 W X18T subs.
